Venus
Venus belongs to my series of modern mythological figures. The original drawing seeks a face that is both ancient and contemporary, which embroidery turns into a living surface: thread directions follow the volumes of the face and hair, densities build the shadows, and viscose lays its light over the depth of panne velvet. Depending on the viewing angle, some areas light up while others fade, as if the work breathed with the light of the room.
The drawing is then translated into a stitch architecture: direction, density and layering are defined to build volume and variations of light. The work is produced in my studio on professional embroidery machinery under constant supervision.

Magdalene
Magdalene is a tribute to the Italian Renaissance painter Carlo Crivelli, whose ornamental precision naturally meets the language of embroidery. I redrew the figure for thread: every drape, jewel and strand of hair becomes a stitched area with its own direction and density. The sheen of viscose answers the matte quality of cotton, recovering the almost goldsmith-like brilliance of the original painting. On panne velvet, the figure seems to detach itself from the background like an icon.

Ishtar
Ishtar summons the great Mesopotamian goddess, a figure of power and light. The drawing builds a frontal, almost hieratic face, which embroidery loads with material: luminous viscose plays the part of gold against the depth of velvet, stitch directions trace the radiance around the figure, densities sculpt the relief of her ornaments. It is a work conceived to catch the light and return it differently at every hour of the day.

Golden Chimera
The Golden Chimera belongs to my fantastic bestiary. Everything begins with a creature drawing in which the mane, the scales and the gaze concentrate the energy of the image. In embroidery, each territory receives its own writing: long, fluid stitches for the mane, scales built in regular layers, varying densities to make the light vibrate. It is a work that shows what thread can do with a drawing: turn it into animated material that changes with the point of view.

Aphrodite
Aphrodite stages the goddess in radiant glory, somewhere between an ancient figure and a contemporary stained-glass window. The drawing composes a serene face surrounded by ornament, which embroidery translates into zones of light: glossy viscose for the radiance, matte cotton for the skin, stitch directions to model the volumes. The work plays on the contrast between the depth of velvet and the brilliance of thread, so that the figure seems lit from within.

Blood Chimera
The Blood Chimera is a monumental piece conceived for exceptional interiors. Embroidered on deep red velvet, the creature unfurls its mane within a matte black and gold lacquered wood structure. Designed for large interiors, hotels and private collections, it plays with light in a way no tapestry could: depending on the lighting and the point of view, the thread blazes or fades.
